Maury Gallagher has had a varied entrepreneurial career, primarily in the aviation and telecommunications industries.

He has been actively involved in the management of Allegiant Travel since he became majority owner and joined the board of directors in 2001.  He assumed the role of Executive Chairman in June 2022, in addition to Chairman of the Board, a position he has held since 2006.  He served as Chief Executive Officer from 2003 until June 2022. 

Mr. Gallagher is currently serving on the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee preparing to host Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in February 2024.

Prior to his involvement with Allegiant, Mr. Gallagher devoted his time to his investment activities, including companies which he founded.  One of these companies was Mpower Communications Corp., a telecommunications company, for which he served as acting Chief Executive Officer from 1997 to 1999 and as Chairman of the Board from its inception in 1996 until 2002.  

Mr. Gallagher was one of the founders of ValuJet Airlines, Inc. (later merged with AirTran Airways before being acquired by Southwest Airlines) and served as an officer and director of ValuJet from its inception in 1993 until 1997.  From 1983 until 1992, 

Mr. Gallagher was a principal owner and executive of WestAir Commuter Airlines.

In addition to his airline and telecommunications ventures, Mr. Gallagher helped launch PurchasePro.com and BankServ.  

Mr. Gallagher took an active interest in car racing during the 2000s after being introduced to the sport by his business partners.  In 2006, he became inspired by Spencer Clark, an up-and-coming NASCAR star, and gave him a sponsorship.  Unfortunately, months later, Clark was in a fatal accident not related to racing.  In 2010, as his son Spencer Gallagher became serious about racing, Mr. Gallagher founded Gallagher Motorsports, now GMS Racing and Petty GMS Motorsports.  Today, he continues to be a leader in the racing world with his business acumen and ability to build winning partnerships with Richard Petty and Jimmie Johnson.  The company started small but has gained great success in over a decade of racing, becoming a highly respected organization that has won a Truck Series championship and performed notably in the Xfinity Series.   

Mr. Gallagher is a Graduate from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in History and holds an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.

Currently Mr. Gallagher and his wife, Marcia, reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.  His daughter, Claire, resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, Scott.  His son Spencer lives in North Carolina, and son Jordan resides in Las Vegas.

His hobbies include cycling and golf, and he is an avid supporter of the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels basketball team and Las Vegas Raiders.
